Duromatic quiet, safe, simple and attractive Quiet, safe, simple and attractive. Kuhn Rikon produced a world-class innovation in 1949 with the first pressure cooker equipped with a spring valve.
Today, Kuhn Rikon DUROMATIC is a clear benchmark for pressure cookers: meals can be prepared quickly, easily and carefully. Three safety release systems ensure safety. The fully automated lid-locking system prevents it from opening as long as there is pressure in the cooker. The materials chosen guarantee a long product life.
With Kuhn Rikon DUROMATIC you can cook more than just jacket potatoes. Risotto in 7 minutes, Crème caramel in 10 minutes, and casseroles in about 20 minutes.

What do we think? Here at The Kitchen Shop we are self confessed pressure cooker fans! After years of using a rather less reliable make with seals that quickly degraded we treated ourselves to a Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker. When it arrived we were first surprised at the lack of bells, whistles, knobs and gadgets but on its first use, the Kuhn Rikon concept of simplicity and quality had us hooked.
Simply prepare your ingredients, pop the lid on and turn up the heat, it is easy to see via two red rings on the valve when the cooker has reached its operating pressure. Turn down the heat and you'd think the cooker wasn't working as it is almost totally silent! When done, the pressure is released slowly by simply turning the heat off or more quickly by allowing steam to vent through the valve. The steam is safely directed away from your fingers via the simple but rather clever top plate.
Whatever you cook in this pressure cooker the main benefits are always huge time savings, meals typically take around one third of the time as conventional cooking, massive energy savings, and most importantly, all those flavours and nutrients can't escape and are preserved in the finished dish. |
