The bamix Gastro is primarily designed for commercial applications, there are now two models available.

The Gastro 200 uses a 200W motor whilst the Gastro 350 uses a new 350W motor. Both are supplied with a wall mounted stand and three bamix blades (there is no dry mill included), both have a longer shaft making it suitable for blending large quantities in deep commercial pans (up to 30 litres for the Gastro 350) and the switches are sealed behind a flexible rubber membrane to protect against the ingress of liquids. The bamix 200 shaft is 19cm long whilst the bamix 350 is a mamoth 29cm long. This compares with a shaft length of 14cm for the Gordon Ramsay, Deluxe and Mono bamix models. Another useful feature, unique to the Gastro model is the curly cord to keep things tidy on the worktop

For domestic applications the Gastro 200 is a viable alternative to other models, however because of its very long shaft, the bamix 350 is likely to be quite unweildy in a domestic kitchen. Remember also that both of these machines are too tall to fit into the worktop stand supplied with the other models; you'll have to use the wall mounted bracket if your bamix is to be kept close to hand.
